2010-2011 MPI-Oregon Chapter Scholarships

For 2010-2011, the Oregon Chapter is offering financial support to members who want to increase their knowledge and industry expertise by:
· Obtaining an industry designation (Certified Meeting Professional or Certification in Meeting Management)
· Attending a national conference (World Education Congress)
· Participating in the Oregon/Washington Cascadia Educational Conference
There may also membership sponsorships and additional registrations for Cascadia available as direct grants.

Cascadia Educational Conference - March 6-8, 2011 at the Marriott Portland Downtown Waterfront
See www.mpicascadia.org for complete details. Two scholarships will be awarded at the January 18 MPI-OC meeting.
CMM Program - October 2-8, 2010 in Dallas, Texas (2011 Schedule TBD – June in Europe; October in North America)
Ten years of meeting experience is required to apply for the CMM. For more information see http://www.mpiweb.org/Education/CMM. The onsite program is 5½ days and two evenings. Within one week participants must successfully pass an online essay examination based on the coursework presented and then submit a newly created business plan and receive a passing score. One scholarship is available for a CMM or CMP candidate and will be awarded in December.
CMP (issued by the Convention Industry Council)
Application deadlines are in August and March; registration deadlines in October and May; testing will coincide with the dates of the PCMA Annual Conference (January 9-12, 2011) and MPI’s World Education Congress (July 23-26, 2011). Tests are administered at multiple locations in addition to the mentioned conferences. See Deadlines & Fees at http://www.conventionindustry.org/cmp/tips.htm#deadlines. One scholarship is available for a the CMM or CMP to be awarded in December.
